Our Mission:

The mission of Keep Beatrice Beautiful (KBB) is to engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environment.
Background

The organization is a local, state and national award winning affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Established in 1982, the main goal is to eliminate litter, to beautify the community through partnerships with businesses, organizations and individual volunteers, and to encourage citizens to recycle and “to close the Loop ” and purchase recycled materials. Litter control, beautification and recycling awareness are ongoing. Awareness and an ethic of environmental responsibility must be cultivated.
Goals

As a community service program the KBB goals are based on the four major Keep America Beautiful system components: Education, Enforcement, Technology and Ordinances. Our major goal is to encourage citizens of all ages to participate in a cleaner, more beautiful environment.
Program Overview

KBB basic service is to 12, 000 citizens in Beatrice, but programs and cleanups are developed with groups in the entire Gage County , population 25,000. In 2009, 720 volunteers picked up 13,560 lbs. of litter (6.78 ton); 150 trees were planted; over 5,000 pieces of information were distributed.
